How it all began...
Megan Hughes, founder of Cwtshi, began making baby carriers for use with her youngest child. Cian when he was a baby. Cian wanted be held for long periods of time and Megan found conventional slings and carriers uncomfortable to wear especially as Cian grew heavier. After much research she decided to make her own. Using the traditional Mei Tai Asian carrier as inspiration, Megan added features which provided comfort, safety, innovative head support design and wonderful fabrics enabling her to carry Cian in comfort and style. She received much interest in her carrier and was inundated with requests to make them for other people. Thus began the Cwtshi business. Cwtshi, pronounced "coo-chee" was chosen as the business name as it is derived from a word used in Wales for 'hug'. Cwtshi baby carriers facilitate that hugging feeling for your child whilst allowing you the hands-free freedom to do whatever you need to do in your daily life (within reason of course - no white-water rafting please!). Cwtshi baby carriers have had numerous incarnations as she, a perfectionist, has searched for ways to improve the product. Keeping the best features of the previous carriers, the style and design has been tweaked and perfected until now the Cwtshi baby carrier has evolved into the Evo Baby Carrier (see where we got the name!).

1. Strap Length: The Evo's padded straps fit from size 6 up to size 20 (UK ladies' top size).

2. Simple popper system: We are the first and only manufacturer to have this feature. We have simplified the small babies' head support system in the Evo Baby Carrier by featuring a single popper on each side. By closing the snap situated at the back of baby's head, support is provided whist ensuring good air-flow to baby.

3. Leg padding: Internal padding is invisibly sewn into the leg area of each Evo Baby Carrier. The padding provides comfort for your child's legs, which is especially important when using it for long periods of time.

4. Side rings: Improving on past Cwtshi Baby Carriers, the Evo Baby Carrier has sling-rings added to the side loops. The rings are imported from the US where engineers have designed them especially for use in baby slings & carriers. The rings are tested using impact, pull tests along with extremities of temperature and wash tests. The rings make threading and adjusting the straps easier.

5. Variety of fabrics: Do you want to stand out from the crowd, or blend into the background? We aim to have at least 9 patterned fabrics and four plain (in stock) at all times. Whatever your style we are sure to have a fabric design to your liking.

6. Construction: The Evo Baby Carrier has a 3-layered construction incorporating hidden padding which provides leg comfort and extra sturdiness at the top of the carrier.

7. Value for money : The Evo Baby Carrier is designed to last from birth to aproximately 4yrs (40lbs max weight). Four years of use equates to less than 10 pence a day.
